We’re looking for an experienced visual designer to help plan, produce and evolve the way customer communications are designed. Some of the key touch points you'll be working on will be emails, support channels, and maybe some direct mail.

The role:

  • Owning the visual design language of the email and CRM systems as part of the design system team
  • Building flexible, modular components and evolving the designs based on customer feedback and quantitative data
  • Supporting product growth by creating outbound communications to support customers lifecycle journey's (pre and post purchase), including emails, micro-sites, support channels, landing pages etc.
  • Bridging the design system team and the customer relationships (CRM) team - helping to elevate the role of design in the customer journey
  • Providing design support for customer interaction points like emails, 3rd party support channels, surveys, and maybe some direct mail
  • Working with UX designers, content team and CRM on information architecture and the overall narrative and messaging for different parts of customer journeys
  • Collaborating with product managers, CRM team and analytics teams to plan and run CRM tests to understand which designs are most effective
  • Continually working to evolve the visual design standards in email and other channels
  • Ensuring consistency of CRM design across the customer journey

You, the Communications Designer:

  • Passionate about visual hierarchy, typography, and email design
  • Experience of driving a content-first approach to visual design
  • Ability to advocate and explain content design approaches and methodologies
  • Working knowledge of email design standards and performance testing
  • Good understanding of product design in a software team, including how you handle developer constraints, regulatory challenges, and stakeholder feedback
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, both orally and in writing
  • Communicate design specifications with other designers
  • Successfully liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders, teams and third parties
  • Experience of working with front-end engineers and product teams is a bonus
