Our client is transforming the way people buy used cars. People don’t love the experience of researching and buying cars online, and their vision is to deliver the UK’s best car buying experience.

The team is looking for a product/service designer who can demonstrate experience solving large-scale and complex problems at a senior service design practitioner level, with a solid understanding of interaction design and systems thinking. This role is not an entry-level role, so you should be able to get stuck in, designing internal technologies for Logistics and Operations.

The role:

  • Understanding user needs and designing services around those needs
  • Designing whole services to make things easier and simpler for users across the value chain
  • Supporting your product team by exploring and validating design ideas
  • Ensuring we solve the right problems by working closely with product managers and stakeholders
  • Creating artefacts such as high fidelity interfaces, user flows, mockups etc
  • Validating ideas using industry-standard tools like Figma, Framer, or Invision
  • Helping the team to succeed across multiple inter-dependent needs
  • You are responsible for running research sessions and synthesis with the product team

You, the Product/Service designer:

  • Experienced in service design at a senior practitioner level, and have a solid understanding of interaction design and systems thinking
  • Specialised in user-centred design practices, with a focus on accessibility and inclusive design in agile, multidisciplinary teams
  • Advanced knowledge of product design in a software team, including how you handle dev constraints, regulatory constraints, and stakeholder feedback
  • Deliver design across any stage of the product lifecycle, from idea sketching and lo-fi prototypes, to high fidelity design
  • Nurture agreement in teams and with stakeholders by having a developed toolkit of product discovery techniques and workshops to help facilitate design discussions and get people aligned on the problem
