The Role:

  • Using your user research toolkit to define the best research methods and approach for each research study, and gathering insights from a variety of audiences
  • Defining and writing user recruitment screeners
  • Approaching user panel subscribers to actively recruit and schedule research sessions
  • Designing research studies and understanding what could be tested online remotely
  • Working with the product team to define research goals
  • Designing discussion guides
  • Moderating remote research sessions
  • Analysing and synthesising research data, summarising research reports with clear actionable insights
  • Communicating research findings with the team clearly and concisely (debrief with product team or other internal teams through videos, one page docs, online show and tell sessions etc.
  • Working with different teams (account management, sales, psychology etc.)
  • Identifying clear hypotheses with product team for specific design changes and decisions
  • Collaborating with the Product team to make changes (or creating) prototypes or wireframes before and in-between research sessions
  • Reporting directly to the Senior Product Owner and Head of Research to coordinate and plan workload and priorities
  • Keeping on top of industry trends and best practices

You, the UX Researcher:

  • 2+ years experience of applied UX research with a digital product
  • Proven track-record and experience with research or design of mobile apps
  • Experience working on complex research projects, digital design, wireframes, prototyping etc.
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy, in a target driven environment and reporting to key business stakeholders regularly
  • Experience with quantitative research methods, analysis and reporting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident with a fast-paced start-up environment where requirements change quickly and often
  • Understanding of how to work on multiple research streams
  • Advanced degree in HCI (BSc, MSc, PhD) desirable and experience with mental health/mental fitness apps/education/learning is a bonus
